EtchStack Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EtchStack (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the EtchStack mobile app and website at etchstack.dev (the “Service”). EtchStack is operated by Thilak Gunasekaran, sole proprietor, based in Chennai, India (“the data controller”).
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account or sign in with Google, we collect your email address and basic Google profile information (your name and profile picture). If you sign in with Google, we receive this from Google’s OAuth service; we do not receive your Google password.
Game data. We store your puzzle progress, streaks, scores, and spaced-repetition learning state, linked to your account, so your progress persists across devices.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device messaging token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Advertising data. The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising identifier and information about your device and app usage to serve and measure ads. See Google’s policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
Diagnostic data. We use Sentry to capture error and crash reports to improve reliability. These reports may include technical device information and account identifiers (such as your email or user ID) associated with the error.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and maintain the Service, sync your game progress, authenticate you, send reminders you’ve opted into, display and measure advertising, diagnose and fix problems, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Third parties we share data with
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service: Google (sign-in, AdMob advertising, push delivery), our hosting and database providers, and Sentry (error reporting). Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account and game data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at grthilak.rl@gmail.com. On deletion, your personal data is removed from our active systems, subject to any retention required by law.
Your rights
Depending on your location (including under India’s DPDP Act and the GDPR where applicable), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact grthilak.rl@gmail.com.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
